I was lurking in another forum and found someone about to make what I think would be a regrettable mistake (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/sci.geo.satellite-nav/browse_thread/thread/b5dc0f1c8313ea54/894d76beac8338f4#894d76beac8338f4). In essence the guy is choosing the Mitac Mio over the Garmin M5. Unfortunately he is not being given good advice, again IMO. So if there any compassionate M5 owners out there, help the guy out.

I took a look at the Mio at the store the other day. Physically, it felt like junk compared to the Garmin. Everything else, I don't know. I feel the cradle with the speaker is a necessity . Not sure if the Mio comes with one.

I feel genuinely sorry for the guy. His wrong decision now will bring good fruit in the future. That is all part of graduating from the University of Life, Faculty Of Hard Knocks and Crap Decisions. Poor bugger, and very, very sad day for GPS and PPC.:(

Sometimes ignorance is bliss. He might well be very happy with his purchase, and encourage others to do so without ever knowing how crappy it is.
