OK I bought a Ipaq in ebay, just the pda , no documents or accesories...It suppose to be a 3855, I dont know if 3855 exist but i couldnt find it. So i bought a lots of accessories for ipaq 3800, including cf expansion pack sleeve and a bluetooth Cf 100meters.
Trying to install the bluetooth I checked in my "Asset viewer" and in system it says "model: compaq ipaq h3900" Processor type: intel pxa250 ; revision B1"...So now I dont know if its 3850 or 3950 or 3955!! how do i know about it!!???? any help?
Another thing is that i cant make the bluetooth work, the cf expasion pack it recognized by the ipaq but the bluetooth isnt(the guy who i bought ir told me he tested it with ipaq 3650 and worked fine).
Please, I know about computer but this is my first PDA in my life.
Best Regards,
Arturo Gentili

I've only had my iPAQ 3835 for a month or so, but here's how you can narrow down what you've got:
Go to Settings\[System tab]\Asset Viewer.
Tap on the + next to System.
You should see a Model ID (mine says 3800).
Beyond that, you'll probably need to look at product specs at Compaq to figure out your specific model.
Can't help you on the accessory stuff - haven't gotten that far yet.
Good Luck!!

The pxa250 CPU is found only in the 3900 and 5400 series. Don't know what you paid, but if it were in line with the 3800 prices, you got a good deal.
Hopefully you got the sync cradle with the device.

Try emailing Compaq with you serial number, they're usually pretty helpful.

Now i need to make my bluetooth work!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15004&item=1394956485
That is the bluebooth i bought in Ebay( did i pay too much?)
This is the CF expasion pack:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=29848&item=800440156
Cf is recognized by the ipaq but the bluetooth is not at all...
Right now i dont have another computer with bluetooth, Is that the reason cuz i cant turn on the bluetooth or it should be able to turn on anyway?
The dude from who i bought it, told me that he tested in ipaq3650 and it did work.
Best regards,
Arturo

The 3800 and 3900 take the same cradel, so you're good there. As for the Bluetooth card did you get any drivers and/or software with it?

I got a CD, I connect the bluetooth to the cf expansion pack, and install the program, reset the ipaq and try to run the program, it says i have to turn on the bluetooth, So i go to setting, system, Bluetooth, click on turn on and nothings ...it says"bluetooth could not start" and if i take the bluetooth out, it says the same message...
I was wondering if to turn on the bluetooth I need another device with bluetooth too?
Or this bluetooth is not compatible to 3900 series?
Or If the bluetooth is not compatible with the expansion pack?
I dont think the guy will be lying to me saying it works ....
Salute :)

The Bluetooth does not require another bluetooth device to be present to turn it on. Have you checked for updates by the CF Cards Manufature?

The expasion pack is compaq, I checked in their site, no luck.
Is there any posibility that this bluetooth doesnt work with 3900 series?

Yes that is always a posibility. When I was talking about checking on updates for drivers I was talking about your Bluetooth card.

I have scoured the BlueTake site and found 1 CF Card and it was a Type1. All I could find were these two things, I'm looking over the PDF on the products page. an FAQ I ran into said to try and remove and reinstall the drivers.

port setting, its the COM port that the bluetooth card is connected to. I think in your ipaq you are supposed to have 5 com ports and if the ipaq isnt seeing it on the default port, CF sleeve might be putting the card on a different com port than the default com port.
Sometimes all CF sleeves arent compatible, its nothing to be sad over, its the cheapest part to replace. I'd suggest trying a different CF sleeve if you can, or even the PCMCIA sleeve, or the dual CF sleeve.
That is what the guy tell me... how do i change ports in my ipaq?
