Egmont,
It's been a day now with your new 'toys'? Any observations to fill me in and look forward to or prepare for when the GPS 10 arrives here in the wet, windy, snowy, UK?

Well, until 4 hrs ago I was in heaven. The unit does everything I hoped for and more. I took it out in the sun and I can read the screen. My camera, a Nikon D2h with Wi-Fi, will send the pictures as I take them directly to the iPaq so my wife can see them as I'm shooting. The quality of the screen, out of this world.
The G10 works like advertised, the only downside as you can imagine is the crude maps on this gorgeous screen. Maybe it is time to look at other software that do the screen justice.
All that and more 'till about 4hrs ago when I got a message from the 4705 that the battery was down to 14%. I tried any and all combinations, but could not get that thing to charge. Now it is dead as a doornail.
I called HP support , it was 23:00 here, they are very accommodating and he decided that the battery was bad and they will send me a new one. It should be here by Tuesday if the snow storm, that is expected Monday night does not delay it. I ask him on how many batteries he had replaced and the answer was none, mine was the first.
Bokkie, you may want to consider having a backup battery, it was my intention to get one after I tested the unit, but it beat me to it.

So far my battery has been ok. I had to RMA a few weeks ago, when the mainboard failed to respond to reset button presses, and the local agent handling HP RMAs replaced the battery as a matter of course. Whether this indicates they detected a battery problem or not I don't know, so maybe they took the conservative approach. I have it mind to get a spare sometime but so far my battery has been ok.
