I have had the Clie S320 for about a year and have been synchronizing with two computers: one at work and one at home. Worked like a charm until yesterday when I received a fatal error on the PDA. Since then, I have been unable to sync to either computers. I have reset the PDA several times but to no avail.
Has anyone encountered this problem and more importantly what was the solution to the problem?

I haven't encountered the problem. It sounds bad enough that I hope I never do. Not having any answers, here are some questions that I'd ask if you called me on the phone:
1) Was there any other information except the words "Fata Error"?
2) Was the error message displayed on the PC side, the HH side, or both?
3) Have you looked at the log files?
4) Have you done a hard reset or just a soft reset?
Then I'd make a Scientific Wild-Assed Guess and suggest that one of the files might be corrupted. So I'd go to HotSync and select Custom from the menu. I'd set all the Conduits except one to "Do nothing". Then I'd run HotSync and see if it worked or failed. If it failed, I'd set that one to "Do Nothing" and try a different one. I'd keep working through them all until I found either the one that doesn't work or verified that none of them work.
I'd also try to remember where it was I saw the shortcut/grafitti undocumented strokes that will cause the handheld to think it has never been synchronized and give that a try.
Then, if it still isn't working, I'd remember that if it was put together, it can be taken apart and that the punishment for malfunctioning hardware is an appointment with the million pound hammer.

When you say youy have reset several times, do you mean a Hard Reset? Do you get the message that asks you if you want to delete all data? If not you have not done a hard reset. Do one!
And then sync with the last computer that gave you a full sync without the Fatal Error.

The hard reset is as follows: Hold down the Power On button. At the same time poke the reset pin (or paper clip) in the reset hole on the back of your Sony. Remove the reset pin but continue to hold down the Power Button for 10 to 15 seconds or until you see the Palm Logo. Let the power button go. You should see a screen offering to remove all of your data if you push the Scroll Up button. Say Yes by pushing the top center scroll button and you have done the Hard Reset.

Thank you for your help. I was not aware of the hard reset. I did it and then synchronized the machine with the desktop. It is working like a charm once again.
Thank you for your helpful comments.

Glad to hear all is back to normal.
Save the Hard Reset for the events that the soft reset fails to cure.
