I have a Zire 72, this comes with it's own built in media player which is fantastic, it can play mpeg's avi's even wmv's. The only problem is it doesn't play real media files, .rm or .ram.

This is a real pain since all over the place video files come as .rm.
.rm also appears to be the smallest (or at least one of the smallest) encoding options. When I have converted from .rm to .wmv the size of the file has gone through the roof (above the 256 mg my sd card can handle)

I have searched high and low and cannot find a single video player that plays .rm files, even real media player for the palm only plays audio files.

Does anyone know of a real media video player for the palm, or if not of a decent file type to convert the files (quickly if possible) into?

Thanks for looking!
Chris

first of all, the bundled media player on z72 doesnt not play WMV, since WMV (windows media Video) is from Microsoft and it has it own handhelds OS (windows mobile).

To play wmv video files on z72, u have to convert it into mpeg1 or .avi.

Search on the web and u can get alot of
convertor can do the job.

for converting rm/rmvb to .avi/mpeg,
u can use eoVideo
http://www.eo-video.com/

The bundle media player could play .mpg and .asf (converted using palm desktop).

The con of .mpeg is it damn large in file size.

The con of .asf is the quality is bad.

Thus, the best solution to watch video on is to play an .avi video file by using mmplayer.
