hello! Whenever I try to create a new sheet/ document I get the following message and I'm prompted to reset:

"Fatal Error: Emul 68k Main.c Line: 456, line 1111 exception at 00D48D02"

This has been happening to me for a while now and I'm just getting around to try and fix it. I've tried all the soft/hard resets, etc., and I still can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mel

Backup all the Docs on the computer, outside the Docs to Go default directory. Delete all your documents on the IQue and the ones shown in the desktop Docs To Go. Add them all back through the desktop and the problem should disappear.

Which version are you using?
Dataviz seems pretty aware of these problems, even if they don't know what to do about them. They have a special Docs ToGo technical troubleshooting tool available on their web site.

Thanks for the suggestions Cat. Unfortunately all the usb ports on my computer all decided to die at once so I can't hotsync to try it out. When it rains it pours I guess... Btw, I wasn't able to find the directory for docs-to-go on the desktop.

Anders, I'm not quite sure which version I'm using- I somehow did a hard reset (I think) and Doc's-to-go is no longer on my iQue. Whichever was the standard version that came on the iQue is the one that I have.

I'll have to fix my usb ports and I'll get back to ya's.

Thanks for your help
Mel

Then you have version 5. I've bought the more recent 7.003 (build 851). Seems to work pretty well, but I've also seen what you see, sometimes. I used version 6 before this latest one came out.

If you have version 5, which came with the iQue, it would crash like hell all the time. Just upgrade to version 7 or better get rid of it. Doc to Go is too pricey for what it provides. There are better SW.

Just out of curiosity; what would you recommend over Docs To Go that allows not just viewing but editing on the Palm and the PC?

I'm kind of happy with Word and Excel, as it is in Docs ToGo. Have taken a look at minicalc too. Seems better on spreadsheets, but no documents, as far as I can remember.

I had the same problem quite a bit with Docs togo. I called them up and was told that I should upgrade to a newer version, to the tune of about $50. I'm sure their later versions are better, but I just couldn't see throwing another $50 their way when the version I had didn't work that well (reminds me of microsoft). I'm sure those that use it all the time are happier with it than I was. I bought a database program instead for about the same price which does a very nice job of basic spreadsheets or advanced databases on both the palm and pc. I'm happy with the choice.

Which database do you use?

Thanks

Deleting the document database solved the problem on my T3 also. Here Docs To Go is in ROM and present as an icon in the virtual graffiti area. Everytime I'd slip with the stylus towards that icon the T3 would crash which necessitated a in-the hole reset. Talk about PITA...
