question about power failure

Hello all,

I'm new on this site and I hope I anybody can help me.
Since a few weeks my Revo has the following problem: a few times a week it cannot be switched on, or it switches itself off when using it, and it can only be reactivated by a soft reset.
Before sending it back to Psion and paying another 125 euro for reparing it I hope anyone has an idea if I can solve this problem myself (my first Revo had battery problems and I had to pay for reparing it, they sent me this one and now I have a new problem.

Back up your files to the PC then try to run the batteries down on the Revo. Perform a hard reset and then give the Revo a full charge of at least 6 hours to recalibrate the battery charging circuits.
