First off I'm a brand new, proud owner of an iQue M5, which I'm loving so far. :D

I had been using Palm OS for years and now find I'm a newbie at Windows Mobile 3. I have a question re installing applications. I noticed that when you install a program it seems rather arbitrary as to where it shows up after the install. I've seen games go into a "Games" folder in the Programs screen but also in the main Programs list.

Is there any way to organize the Programs screen? In Palm OS I used an add-on utility that organized everything under a tabbed screen layout. Is there a way to do this 'natively' in WM3 or is there an add-on utility that assists with this?

Also, is there a way to manage apps that have been installed in the SD card so they appear where you want them?

Thanks in advance,

You can easily organize the shortcuts and folders by open the File Explorer on the M5, browse to My Device -- Windows -- Start Menu -- Programs folder, and you can move the shortcut by tap&hold on it and options to cut/copy/paste will popup, you can also create new folder by click Edit on the tool bar.

Thnaks, that helped quite a bit. Now a related question: If I installed an app to the SD card is there a way to create a shortcut in the programs folder so it is visible when I tap on Programs but the actual application file remains on the SD card and is executed from there. Seems like there are a few Windows features that are sort of "hidden" in Mobile.

Thanks,
Howard

Yes, generally if the installer behaves properly, it will create shortcut in Programs for you the same way if you install it on the main memory.
If it does not create the shortcut, all you have to do is open File Explorer on the M5, browse to the location of the .EXE file of the installed program on the storage card, tap&hold on it, select copy from the popup window, browse to My Device -- Windows -- Start Menu -- Programs folder, click Edit on the tool bar (or tap&hold on empty part of the screen) and select Paste Shortcut.
