Hi everyone,
I've just joined the forum and have an issue with pocket pc in general. I used to have a windoes CE 2.0 device (Sharp HC4100) back in 97 which had Pocket word, excel and power point. Since then I had changed to palm which support these programmes with dataviz's documents to go. I have now got myself a Ipaq4150 believing that they are more powerful and can do everything that a Palm can do and more. But to my suprise.. NO POWER POINT!!! IS there any substitute or do we just do with out?!?! Can anyone shed some light for me as I was hpoing to ba able to do presentations like I had on my Palm powered Clie.
Cheers Tom

If you are only interested in viewing PPT presentations, the Westtek ClearVue viewer is inexpensive and has a small memory footprint. It can handle PPT files in their native format as well, so no conversion required. It also allows printing the files if you have HP Mobile Printing (free app) or Westtek's JetCET printing app.

If you want to be able to do work on the presentations while they're on your handheld, there are good options. I have used both Pocket SlideShow and Pocket Slides. They allow you to rearrange, edit, and even add slides. These require conversion of the PPT files into their own formats for use on your device and conversion back to PPT format to send them back to your desktop (this gets added to ActiveSync when the apps are installed and works automatically like the AS conversions).

Thanks for that! Who makes pocket slides and pocket slideshow and why do you need both? What does each one do that the other doesn't.?
I like the flexability of being able to produce slides on the ppc.

You don't need both; I have worked with both at different times. You can check either PocketGear or Handango to see if trial versions are available so you can compare them before settling on the one that is most suited to your needs. Just remember that they both require file conversion through ActiveSync in order to work with PowerPoint presentations.
