OK, I feel a little stumped here, and can't seem to find the key, although I think it must be right in fornt of me. This is the second PDA I've owned, first was iPAQ 2215, now Dell Axim X50, but I know the isssue is with WinCE and ISP config. What I'm up against is the inablity to SEND email via WiFi. I can receive it ok, but cannot send. Is there a FAQ or tutorial around somewhere about this?

TIA

There's an option "Outgoing e-mail server requires authentication" tab that you may have to check.

Yes, OK. I just now dleted my account and reenetered it checking that box. (couldn't find a way to edit the account settings) However, there's also an SSL option - should that be checked also?

I tried sending an email with this new setting, and I get:

"Cannot Connect

Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present."

With a link for "settings" which, when I click on, starts a dialogue for a new modem connection, whoch is not what i want.

Isn't the installed Dell WLAN the equivalent of a network card? I seem to be missing some setting that allows the email to be sent via the WiFi, as it appears to be looking for a LAN or a Modem.

Thanks

How are you connecting to the internet? Are you accesssing wifi home network and try to use your desktop's connection? Can you perform other internet functions such as surfing the net with Pocket Internet Explorer. Here's a general guide; http://wifi.aximsite.com/axim-03se.html

Hi -

Thanks, yes to all. I have a cable connection (Comcast) which my desktop is connected directly to, and I have a wireless router installed. My two laptops access the WiFi network no problem. One has built-in WiFi and the other uses a PC card slot adapter. And yes, I am able to access the Web with PIE on the Axim. I will go have a look at the site you just posted.
