So I ordered a GPS 10. Evidently it only comes with NA maps. It would have been nice to get the Euro maps and have both sets. I expect I'll be here looking for help when it comes.

We'll be here to give it when it arrives :)

Still waiting for one in the UK...:(

Hey Bokkie, did you not say a few days ago that you had one on its way?

The post over there can't be that slow ;)

That was'nt me Egmont. The GPS 10 is not widely available in the UK at the moment. In fact I can't find a single dealer carrying stock. All of them will take an order, but none of them have it yet that I've tried.

I'm sorry to hear that, I just love mine.:p

Would it be legal to trade maps? I already have CS6NA. I assume a UK GPS 10 will have CS7Europe.

Bokkie,

The GPS Warehouse may have them here (http://www.gpsw.co.uk/details/prod2617.html) and now, or at least very soon. The page says "Availability: March 2005". I may be buying the UK model to get CS Europe. What would be a could price (ex. VAT) by UK standards?

That's the place I got my iQue from and I've been to their showroom. The average price in the UK is listed at about £190. Roughly speaking, rip-off Britain works on the policy that what you pay in $, we pay in £.

I think that must reflect the difference in cost of CS Europe. Europe costs about $200 more than the NA map.

An average price of £190 without 17% VAT would be a bit over £160, or around $310. That is about 40$ less than Garmin's list price. There would be extra shipping costs but despite the weak weak weak triple weak dollar the deal looks rather sweat.

US GPS10 170$ + CS 7 Europe 280$ = 450$
UK GPS10 (inc CS7 Eur) = 310$

Like, buy a CS7 Europe license and get a GPS10 almost for free.

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. What am I missing?

I already got my "American" G10. Haven't had a chance to open the box yet.

I got the software and maps installed on my Audiovox (Verizon) vx6600 pda/phone. I haven't had a chance to go anywhere, but everything seems to hook up right. I'll report back when I find out how it gets along with the phone.

So far the system works flawlessly. I think the Que software may be a little more user freindly than the Palm version. Voice directions through the built in speaker are louder than on the 3600, but still not load enough. Using a (wired) headset they are fine. The phone over rides Betty; no voice prompts while on the phone. I wish there was a way to hear Betty in the background, but I suspect that is an MS problem.

Next project, blue tooth head sets. Not for a while though.

The GPS 10 and the Que software are excellent, as we all know. The vx6600 PPC-phone has some known bluetooth problems. The G10 works as intended as long as you don't move out of BT range. If you carry the phone away from the G10 and then come back it reconnects sometimes, other times I have to turn everything off, do a soft reset on the phone, and start over. I assume that these are vx6600 problems, not the G10.
