Hi. I just got an iQue M5, and after about 8 hours of use, it does not respond to on-screen tapping with the stylus anymore. I tried doing a reset by pushing the switch at the bottom of the unit but no luck. Are there any other "resets" that I can try before contacting Garmin to have it sent in for repair? Thanks.

Try taking the battery out.

Here's a link if that didn't work but it's for an iPaq. might function the same.

You can also try press and hold down power button and at the same time press the reset button.
If those do not work, use this free hard reset utility;

This is from the garmin techs:

To perform a "hard reset" do the following:

1. Press and hold the REC button (on the side of the unit)
2. Press and hold the Contacts button (second button from the left on the
face of the unit).
3. Depress the RESET button with the tip of the stylus.
A blue screen with white text with appear asking "Delete all your programs,
data, and settings in memory?"
4. Press the Que button - "YES"
Another blue screen with white text will appear asking ""Also delete all
your files in permanent internal storage?"
Non-Vol clear -
5. Press the Que button - "YES" to delete all of the data that is stored in
internal FLASH memory (backup files, etc...)
-or- press the Calendar button - "NO" to keep the permanent data.
(Note: if you answer "YES" it will take several minutes to complete this
action. Be patient)

Thanks everybody! I tried the procedure mentioned by MJM and it worked! However, if I have to do this often I will be contacting Garmin.

Welcome to version 27.1 of Ctrl-Alt-Delete. The more things change, the more they stay the same. :)
