Anyone know of a serial port cable that will work with the M5? One of the things I used my iQue 3600 for was downloading information from my Aladin dive computer, which has a serial interface.

Since I couldn't find anything obvious, I had a look for Bluetooth serial adapters. I found a few, but they all require external power, which is not supplied by the Aladin interface (i.e., I would have to connect it to a power outlet). A battery powered solution would be preferable. Then again, I suppose that since I built the Aladin serial interface myself from plans downloaded from the Net, I could probably attach a battery to the required serial pin (pin 9 if I recall correctly) if there aren't any other alternatives.

On a different note, is the M5 connector proprietary to Garmin, or is it also used on other PPC models?

At first I thought you could use this: http://shop.garmin.com/accessory.jsp?sku=010%2D10310%2D00

But I think that you need a "female" reciever on the USB end. If you can find a female/female USB adapter, it may work. Not sure on the drivers though.

here's a link to a guy who tried similar connections: http://pfranc.com/usb/usb.mhtml
