I was in WalMart tonight shopping their book/magazine section and glanced to a nearby shelf and saw that they were selling a range of covers for large'ish hard backed Bibles. A number of these covers looked slightly larger than a Netbook.

There was one contemporary design that caught my eye and as it was $10 saw I bought it. It's an anonymous looking item so even if you are not religious or of a different religion this would be appropriate to use. It fits the Netbook perfectly and has some integral padding but not enough for major careless handling. It also has handy pockets inside (I guess to take the hard covers of a Bible) and a pen holder. If you don't require the pockets you could always put some thin foam in them for extra protection. It has a rubber moulded spine too and a robust zip to close the other three sides.

It's ideal for protection against general scratches or scuffs when you are on the move and especially good protection when the Netbook is in a briefcase or similar. I would have inserted a picture into this post but I'm not sure how to so here's a link to the manufacturer's web site (their price is higher at $14.99 about 10 quid in the UK). In case this doesn't work go to their home page and search on "Reflex" which is the model name.

They have a very wide range of other designs - search on "covers". I think the one I have is "medium" size but check their sizing.

They also have a link relating to how to buy their books online via third parties (so presumably this will include the covers) at

http://www.zondervan.com/books/buy.asp

In this list is Amazon.com but I think rest are just US online sellers but you never know some may have UK links too.

They also have a business to business area called "zbusiness" if anyone is enterprising enough.

Wal-Mart own ASDA in the UK so maybe they may have some of the range. Alternatively , search in the UK under book covers and you may find similar products from other UK based sellers.

A low cost but effective solution.

Looks ideal Grant, and nice and unasuuming so won't attract any unwanted attention in a way it might have been an advantage if it said Bible on it (quite appropriate also for some also)

Not quite the same but might be of interest I just saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2073182805 and no its not me selling it and sorry if this belongs in "market place forum" but seeems to follow the thread. Original psion briefcase for about £30, might be a bit pricey with mailing to the US, though other here might be interested - also see other thread about buying this bag direct from the manufactures cheap and also in Black ((but not brown ;-) )
