Has anyone tried connecting over a tcp/ip network to terminal services on windows 2k or remote desktop on windows xp? I have a mp780 and am wondering if it is possible. After my searching I am not finding anything for this. Looks like citrix is the only current solution. Maybe VNC? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Works great.

very nice. I'll give it a shot. It will be interesting to see if it works with XP. I know that XP is running an updated RDP version, so I don't know if it will be compatible. Thanks again!

By the way I did get VNC to work. I connected with my mp780 to VNC on Windows 2k and Windows XP. It's kind of slow, but if I need to it works. I'll contrast this with terminal services and post an update later.

Never tried it on 2000 or XP, but I have tried it on NT4-TS and it works great (the terminal server client). I was even running it on my MP750c (with the CE 2.11 upgrade ROM), and it did great. Prior to this, I only used PCAnywhere, but that was quirky and only in black and white (despite their touted color patch). I used to use the TS client to login remotely over a dial-up to do NT admin work in a pinch.

Update:

Tried the terminal services on my mobilepro 780 connecting to Windows XP remote desktop, and it works! Better than VNC it seems also.

My next problem is however, my mobilepro 880 is not connecting via terminal services to the XP box. It would be nice to connect with the larger screen. I'll have to start comparing the programs installed and see if something is mucking up the 880.
