I must be doing something fundamentally wrong.
I can beam via bluetooth or irda to my mobile (nokia 6310i), but if I try to get it to dial up to the internet it won't work.
Via IRDA....just doesn't even see or talk to the phone.
Via Bluetooth ..it connects then disconnects almost immediately without dialing??
I've taken the standard options i.e. for IRDA generic IRDA modem.
and Bluetooth modem for Bluetooth.
All options appear to be configured and on the phone settings are all correct.
I'm sure it is something simple!
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Ahh... I wasn't the only one then. I was going mad yesterday as I had to set this up for my boss and it was happening to me too.
H3970 and 6310i via bluetooth and GPRS. I did manage to fix it in the end. And after all that it *was* something simple and I felt such a fool
Firstly I installed EUU3 as I though that might be the problem.
The reason that it connects and immediately disconnects is because it is either not dialing a number *or* the number is invalid. On the iPAQ Connections settings, you have the Dialling Locations -> dialing patterns.
Try replacing all those settings with the letter 'G'. What this means is that only the phone number that you have put into the connection setting will be dialled.
What makes this problem so hard to find is the fact when you try to connect, neither the iPAQ *or* the 6310i display the actual number that you are trying to dial!!!!! Stupid??
btw, I have assumed that you have successfully set up a partnership between the 2 devices - this is a race against time affair too.... ;)
Thankfully, I have a H3970 and a T68i and these go together quite nicely.
Hope this helps you out.

I too have a 6310i, are you trying to dial and ISP or use the GPRS? The provider I have does not have GPRS yet, they say they're going to go right to EDGE! :D Anyway, if you're trying to dial an ISP does it say Check Oportator Sericves?

Many thanks to Bomber and Nitestrike. Eventually I solved this the same way you did Bomber.
Yep it was down to the dialing patterns...(which was so so obvious!!).
Hmmm I have a few problems with my compaq which eventually I have sorted out..quite often it is down to something simple.. yet the manual and any troubleshooting sections offer little helpful advice.
It wouldn't have been that difficult to program these things to return standard error codes etc so the Pocket PC may return some useful information!!!!!!!!
Oh well...until the next problem!

Matt
