Could it be angry, just because you let it die due to hunger?
Do you have the Uninstall and Cleanup applications at hand? Perhaps something went wrong when you tried to re-install Birdwatch, and now you can't get rid of it, to redo the installation properly again.

I also had a problem after having run Birdwatch for a lot of hours. The QueFind page wouldn't accept stylus input, although other pages would. Did a soft reset and turned GPS data off in BW preferences and then it worked.

In your case, a hard reset might be necessary. Hope you have a backup.

I have done a hard reset before I reinstalled BirdWatch.

When I try to click on the birdwatche ichon on the IQue then i reboots instently.

Can anyone give me detailed instructions on what to try to get birdwatch to work? (I am no expert on IQue allthough I have had one for over one year.

What happened here, as I have seen with other apps (often AcidImage) is that the preferences file gets corrupted. Uninstalling the application and deleting the preference file should have been sufficient. A hard reset is definitely overkill and unnecessary.

I suggest you get an uninstaller program to take care of the mechanics of cleaning out all the related files. However if you use FileZ and get rid of everything with Birdwatch's creator id, you can accomplish the same thing. It should work.

Did you try to delete Birdwatch, since it doesn't work anyway?
To be able to redo the installation, in case there was some fault when you did that, I mean.

Have you tried just installing it once again?

Do you have Uninstall manager in your iQue?

Hi, Joseph. I think we are speaking in each other's mouth today... ;)

I deleted it from the Ique. Did a hotsync without birdwatch.

Added birdwatch in the palm desktop application on my PC, and did another hotsync. And viola it worked!

Thanks for all support. Now I can drive safely to my montain cabin with the nice danger voice coming from my IQue.

Thanks again and happy easter

How do you delete the preference file?

Per a Moose I know-

"Saved_Preference.prc.

It would normally be located in the following desktop directory:

C:\Program Files\Palm\SR\Backup.

The file should update everytime you sync. If it's not (look at the details/properties of the file) then this may be the problem. And if it's not updating each time then here is what I suggest.

Delete the file from the handheld. Make a backup of the file stored on the PC just to be safe. Resync - you will lose most if not all of the passwords or activations key codes for any additionally purchased software that's been installed on the Que. Keep these registration numbers handy just in case. You can reinstall the Sytem Preference file if this doesn't solve the issue but you'd need to do so on the next sync without making any changes to the handheld. "

Actually CC that's not what I meant. I've never messed with Saved_Preference.prc before and don't recommend anyone else trying it.

Birdwatch and many other programs maintain their own preference files. It is not visible in FileZ.

Deleting all the Birdwatch files (Creator id=BDWT) using FileZ will leave that preferences file intact. So reinstalling will not fix the problem.

If you delete using the Palm launcher, it will clean up all the files including the preferences file. This is sufficient to fix the problem

Deleting that single prefs file will also do the trick, but it can only be done using Uninstall Manager as shown in the screenshot below.
