Hi All

Just got my GPS10 with City Select Europe maps. I have installed software onto the pocket PC (imate jam) and can connect to the GPS, aquire satellites, see speed and direction.

I have installed the world basemap and can see major Cities and towns.

I have unlocked (typed in the unlock code and mapsource said it was sucessfull) the detailed maps in mapsource and can view the details (small streets), but after I download a detailed map from mapsource to the pocket PC (while connected to the GPS),
my pocket PC gives the message "Can't unlock maps"

Any suggestions

Did you turn your gps 10 on and made a BT-connection?
The Que application needs to check the unlock-code with the internal key in the gps 10 because they are related.

Mapper, thanks for your comments. Yes, I did have a BT-connection.

Problem is now solved, I ended up re-installing the Garmin Que software to the imate, and it now accepts the detailed maps.

brad5505: How are you finding your GPS 10 on your i-Mate JAM?

I have a JAM and are very tempted with the GPS 10. Have you found any problems?

Do you have a BT car kit?, if you do, is there any loss of voice quality when making a call and using the GPS at the same time? I did find this with a cheap Garmin to BT adapter and wondered if the same occurs with the GPS 10?

What happens if you reach a turn when making a call?, does the turn voice from the Que software sound over the call so the person on the other end hears it?

Many Thanks,
OB.

OB

One the detailed maps were sorted out, the GPS 10 and i-Mate JAM seem to work well. Ocassionally (happened twice) the BT on the i-mate will not start and I have to do a reset, but after that the i-mate BT is fine.

I do not have a car kit and have not tried using the phone while running the Que software, so am unsure if the turn voice from the Que software overrides the call or the other way around.

I have a different PDA / phone (Audiovox vx 6600.) On my phone the voice guidance is muted when you are on a call. Using a bluetooth headset, the headset only works for the phone. the voice guidance continues to come from the internal speaker. On a wired headset the voice guidance and the phone both come through the headset. Either way guidance is muted when the phone is active.
