Is it safe to upgrade from Activesync 3.7 to the newest version 3.8?????? It won't bugger up my contacts etc...will it????

Yes, you should be fine, many people already upgraded to this new version without any problems.

It works here with Outlook 2003 on a XP Pro SP2 box...
