i try to connect to the net (freeserve, 08450796699) with my revo through my 6510, but all i get is a busy tone. It isn't freeserve cos i can dial them normally and get through.
Any suggestions???
Josh.

If you have "smart" dialling enabled, make sure the number has been entered as
+44 845 0796699, that is without the leading zero in the area code. If that isn't the problem, ask again.

OK, create the file path C:\Logs\Etel\ and, after the next connection attempt, have a look at the GSMTSY.txt log file in the Etel folder to see what number has actually been dialled.

what the hell does all that mean?!?!?!Don't worry about what it all means. The dialup ran right through to the end without an error response. Try this:
In Control Panel / Internet
Uncheck "smart" dialling and just enter the number exactly as it should be dialled including the leading zero in the area code - 08450796699
In Control Panel / Modems
Uncheck "Carrier detect (DCD)"
If it still doesn't dial properly, open the Comms application, go in the menus to "Tools / Communication settings" and set the port to Infrared. Now try dialing from Comms by entering ATD08450796699 and pressing Enter. Let me know the result of that.

it just keeps on telling me the call was unexpectantly terminated

Ah! Now that message usually means that your account with your phone's network provider hasn't been enabled for Data calls. Contact your network provider and have them enable Data calls for you.
