Hi,

Can we have a separate forum for MC218....please? You have a separate forum for all the other psion devices...why not have one for MC218. I own a MC218 and II just don't know to which forum I should direct my question.

TIA

The Ericson MC218 is essentially the same machine as the Psion 5mx but with a couple of additional applications built in. Post your discusions in the 5mx board as they are probably also of interest to 5mx users :)

Hi Mike,

Yep I agree with you that MC218 is essentially psion 5mx but.....with a set of application that is not available on 5mx (to my understanding) and makes it unique...which makes most problem face by MC218 user unique, in a way....am I right?

Rgds,

The MC218 is different in that it has applications which cannot run on the 5mx. I personally don't see that as a problem which prevents it from being discussed in the 5mx forum where it has been in the past. Most of the MC218 discussion probably relates to matters which are common to both machines.

Similarly, I don't see the Diamond Mako as being too different to the Revo Plus.

Hi Naj,

Having given it some consideration, I do not see the small differences between the 5mx and the MC218 warranting a separate board. In addition, if we were to separate them out, MC218 users would miss out on threads they might find interesting, if they did not browse across forums.

There may be some value in renaming the forum "5mx (MC218)" so that new MC218 users know where to look - I'll discuss this with the other moderators.

Although a newbie here I'd like to support this decision. As far as I know the MC218 has three additional application over and above the 5mx. Postcard is totally unique and I don't think that a third-party alternative exists but TomTom provide My Pocket and Offline Web as purchasable applications for the Psion ER5 range of devices. As a user of My Pocket and an owner of a 5mx I would be unlikely to check the MC218 board (although in reality I tend to check them all anyway!) although issues may relate to the additional applications.

Thanks all...I can see some changes to the Forum's name and I have move my quiries from the general area to 5mx/mc218. Again...thanks for the consideration...naj
