Seeking recommendations for safe & effective soft reset utilities for iPAQ 3845.
Freeware optimal but payware OK too. Stable & safe are the priorities.

Your best bet is to do a search on google. Why would you want an app to do that when all you have to do is press abutton?
Convenience. I'd rather do the operation by a screen-tap vs. taking out the stylus and poking the little hole. Also, what if the unit's in the cradle?
Clarification: I know how to find the apps. Was asking if anyone's using one that they know is safe & effective.
Thanks !

I use the reset utility from PHM. It's a lot more convenient than using the stylus.

Stevemw, the URL link doesn't find a website. What is the app's name & maybe I can find it on a software site. Thnx

Hard reset I have performed. Slide the cover over and then slide the switch to the right. No probs. However I attempted to do a soft reset of which it says to depress the switch in for one sec, however it does not seem to depress in. I do not want to break it so I did not apply that much pressure. Any tips? I happen to have a 3600 series Ipaq.

There is a hole on the right bottom of the iPAQs that is used for softresets. The switch on the 36xx is only to-do a hard reset or turn the battery off to put in storage.

Yeah, I couldn't reach them at this time; however I think the URL is good; try again tomorrow or I can email you the product zip -- it's freeware (as are the registry editor, process manager and device manager also featured on that page).

As Nitestrike pointed out in another thread, Pocket Toolmanhttp://members.shaw.ca/pockettoolman (don't know if I did that link right - check for it on any freeware site) is VERY handy, and it does soft resets.
