I've recently bought the Garmin M5 which I'm pretty pleased with.

I know there are speed camera utilities for the Palm based iQue, but is anyone aware of something that will work on the Pocket PC platform?

Many thanks

You have many options available here (http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/menu_gpsspeed.php)

Since all of these products require NMEA, it should theoretically work with the M5. In another thread AKlopper has shown that the M5 will output NMEA even while navigating with the Garmin apps (i.e. QueMap, QueRoutes).

Perhaps you can download a demo and let us know how it works.

The GPS 10 owners should be able to use this as well. Unfortunately, because the GPS 10 only outputs either Garmin PVT or NMEA but not at the same time, you cannot use the POI warning programs and navigate with the Garmin apps at the same time.

Thanks for your help.

I have tried the Tom Tom software that you suggested, but CheckPoint kept asking for a Tom Tom overlay - which of course I don't have.

I must admit to being new to this game, and I can see it's going to be a steep learning curve!

Would also like a similar product to Joseph's Birdwatch for my new M5. Something that does not need TomTom to work with.

Pleeeeease, I'm really missing my 3600 now that I don't have my speed camera alerts anymore.
