Before I bought an iQue I had a Zire 31. Before installing the Palm desktop software that came with the Q I uninstalled the old palm software.

I noticed recently I still have a folder in program files entitled palmone and I have another folder entitled Palm. The latter has the Garmin files.

I deleted the palmone folder and now note that where I formally had icons on Palm desktop for Photos and Notepad I have squares with a large E. When I restore the palmone folder they come back.

I understand that the Q version doesn't come with notepad or photos.

Does everyone else have icons that just have the letter "E" or not? Just wondering as I am not sure if somehow there are components of both programs running and if it is ok to delete the old file or not. Of course, am also surprised at the sloppy uninstall.

If you right click on these icons and choose customize - you can either move them or check them "off" so as not to see them anymore.

The sloppy unistall is Windows way of telling you that they don't like you buying a Palm OS device....blame Bill Gates not Palm and the Windows Registry.

They can be safely removed if you know how to "hack" the registry but just turn them off as I noted and don't worry about it. ;)

I had an iQue that died, so I replaced the PDA functions with a Tungsten E. I used the E's software. Found that I had to delete it and reload the iQue for BOTH to function.

My PHOTOS icon still shows up in the iQue Palm program.
