I want to order a Sena flip-cover case for my Axim x50v. The included slip cover is next to useless for me. What's the use of an instant-on PDA if you have to fumble with two hands to remove it from the case first? I like the convenience and screen protection of a flip cover.
Although I have no need for it today, I want to buy a compatible automobile mount in the future. Is there one that I can use without having to remove the case? If I have to take the Axim out of the tight fitting case every time I have to mount it in the car, I'll end up not using the case at all.
Alternatively, what case can I buy that can be used with a good auto mount?
Has anyone found a good solution for this yet?

I don't know of any mount that can be used with a case. I think the key is to get a case that slips on and off easily, so that it's not a big hassle - I agree with your comment on the included Dell case - totally worthless. What do you want for free?
I went with the EB Case (mostly because I had one of their cases before for my iQue, and loved it). I have to say I was slightly disappointed with their x50 case - it has a hard back that is different from the soft leather iQue case, making it slightly bulkier. Not sure why they did that, I don't like it, but the magnetic flip cover is great so I kept it. The Sena cases look like they are very nice too.
As far as mounts go, Seidio is really your only choice. I have heard of some problems with the early x50 mounts they made, but mine is very high quality and works very nicely. I have it mounted semi-permanently to a pro-fit dash mount, with the swivel adapter. Next best thing to built-in. But it doesn't work with cases (or extended batteries).

Get a belt case. My cheapo Targus fits (one at a time of course :)) both iQue and x50 (even with extended battery). Taking out the x50v takes a little longer than taking out the iQue because the lack of a flip cover means I must be more careful to avoid grabbing on the screen. I am getting better at it, though, and it is still faster than taking the encased PDA out of a shirt/pants/other pocket and opening a flip case.
