I've ordered the scuba case from the palm website and it noted the case will be shipped in 2-3 weeks. First, I don't understand why they would introduce the new palm and not have any accessories available. I would imagine that most of the Tungsten buyers are not first time buyers and would be used to certain accessories (cases, keyboards, etc.)

Anyway, I have seen on boards several times over that people that order things from palm.com before they are released end up waiting till after they are readily available in stores to send the stuff out.

My brother-in-law works for Office Depot and told me that they already have the slim case in stock (it also has a 2-3 week ship time - the hard case has a 5-10 business day ship time). He is checking on the arrival of the scuba case.

In the meantime, does anybody know where I can purchase the scuba case now, or at least sooner than 2-3 weeks (plus shipping time)?

Thanks for your help!

Can't help you with a scuba, but yesterday I finally found a Palm brand leather flip case for the Tungsten at Office Depot for $29.99.

The single-fold case is black leather, with a plastic clip on the right side that the Tungsten is snapped into. It "keys" into the notches on either side of the unit just above the slider and holds it in nice and tight (for now). I wonder if the tabs will wear out.

The left side has three pockets for business cards, etc. and two SD/MMC card pockets.

There are two little leather flaps at the bottom of the left side with rolled edges. I think these are to provide some resistance against the botton of the Tungsten when closed so it doesn't slide open.

There is a flap that slides tightly into a loop on the front of the case to hold it shut. It seems to work well.

No belt clip or lash.

In all, I'm pretty pleased. The leather is nice and it appears to offer decent protection for the unit.

Before that, I picked up the blue plastic case from Palm for the Zire as it looked about right when holding the TT up to the adult-proof blister pack. Of course, it's too stinking tight. Waste of $20.

Ahhh, whups, I should have added my post about Palm Cases to this thread. You can view it at http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5867. In it I describe my reaction to the Palm Slim Leather Case, reactions similar to those of krussell.

krussell -- I'm surprised you couldn't return the Zire case and get your $20 back. I too have wondered if the Zire case would fit the TT, and I'm glad you've mentioned here that it doesn't work. Thanx!

I agree with greyhound that sometimes you can get Palm products quicker in local stores than by ordering directly from Palm, so I'm waiting for the Palm Hard Case and the new Palm Ultra-Thin Keyboard to appear at a local store.
