I was wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible to read ebooks in .lit or .pdb form on the 5mx. Also, would the simple pdf reader be enough to read ebooks in .pdf form?
Many thanks

eBook for EPOC is a shareware util that will read .pdb files (and more..). Its at http://www.geocities.com/ebookepoc/.

pdf freeware will indeed read .pdf ebooks, but bear in mind the limitations listed at the pdf site - if you have an ebook that includes some item only supported in pdf+, then you'll have to pay the reg fee.

I was hoping there is a freeware ebook reader out there. So far, I've only ever used freeware on my machine, and the always do the job perfectly well, so I was hoping for a free reader as well.

VReader5 is worth a look - that's free. If you look on Google for Vreader5 it will give you the URL(Ijust did). It only deals with TCRand Aportis DOC (Palm) formats, but that gives you a pretty wide range...

Mobipocket is a good free ebook reader for Psions, PPCs, and Palms. Many sites including Fictionwise provide books in mbp format. There is also a news type service similar to Avantgo.

Thanks a lot for all your replies. VReader is perfect, exactly what I was looking for actually! As for Mobipocket, I had used that at the beginning, but I find it needlessly "heavy" for quite a simple task.
Once again, thanks for the help.
