Guys,
play this one back on me, but what exactly is the requirement to use this utility? I installed it and it displays a rather bare bones window but it leaves me clueless as to what I should from thereon.
I know some of you, Egmont (you are the most recent I think), but could you guide me through the murky backwaters of what I am meant to achieve with it?

Sorry, I was gone for a few days, but I see you got it going by now.

Monty-egg,
I'm still no wiser as to whether I need to use it or not. I got a provisional fix when I first put the maps on my work PC. Since then I've failed totally to unlock them at home. As you see, I'm not really any closer and I'm not sure if I need to focus any energy on the sensor configuration utility. Until I get the maps unlocked at home, I'll leave it at that for the time being!:)

As far as the computer is concerned, I have the same problem. I was was unable to load the maps too, come to think it, I also have problems with the iQue system on that computer. I have two more, one a backup and the other is my answering system and web server and with that, it worked like a charm.
There is something in the configuration or other programs that interfere with the Garmin software. The working machine only has basic programs on, no pop up blocker, macro program and alike.
It is not high on my list to figure out what causes it since the other computer sits right next to it.
As for the cofiguration of the G10, I never needed to change anything, after pairing, it worked right out of the box.
PS In the other post you mentioned "Forerunner ", what is that?

The Garmin Forerunner 201. It's useful for lap times when out cycling/running. But you cannot load maps onto it.
