Hello!
I have just received my casio e-125 off of e-bay a few days ago.. but i have yet to get it to turn on.. i have replaced the back-up battery.. i have also just got an ac charger/adapter for this unit.. but the issue i'm having is that i only get a rapidly blinking amber light.. the screen stays dark.. nothing happens.. my question is do i have to have a fully charged main battery for this unit to work?? i think it needs replaced.. i hope i didn't get taken for a ride..
thanks for any information

The fact that it does not come on when you purchased it, says you were taken for a ride. Something is defective rather you get it to work or not, the Casio should power on when you use AC.
On your battery switch, move it left and right a few times, maybe that helps. Also, tell us who sold you the Casio, where we don't buy from him/her, thanks!

Blinking amber light means the battery is not fully recharged. Once it is charged, press the power button. If the the device still does not turn on take out the main battery and the backup battery. Put the main battery in first, then the backup battery and put the battery switch in the lock position. Press the power button and you should see initializing memory..., then starting..., then it will ask you to set up the device.

I didn't know that the amber light blinks on a E-125, I know it does on a E-100. Anyway, the Casio should still power on if you have the Batteries installed and added AC to it.

Thank You for the info..

I guess my next question will be.. Does the casio E-125 power up and turn on if you use the ac adapter and have all the batteries removed? I have bought a brand new main battery pack.. I have not recived it yet.. it is on way... hopefully this will solve my problems!! Thanks for the much needed help!!

also i'm kind of a tinker so I did take the back off of the unit and checked the white selctor switch that is used for the battery pack selector.. it checked out ok.. while I was in there I also checked on the white ribbon cable that powers the backlighted screen.. it to checked out fine as well... Thanks

Thanks for the info jjsheakley!

I had 3 E-125's and a E100, neither powered on with AC and no batteries installed.

Maybe mine was diffrent, but I don't think it will. I do know mine would power on if the batteries are dead and installed, using the AC adapter. I think the batteries are neccassary to make the flow of AC power stay intact with the unit, but that's an asumtion of mine, and may not be fact.

This question might seem dumb... But have you tried the USB cable that came with the unit he sold you?

It seems that the seller really wanted to stress the "As Is", that's a shame if he sold you that knowing that the unit does not work. Alot of Casio's are damaged thru OC (overclocking), the displays ribbon cable is damage by removing and or installing it. That might very well be the case, I would hate for you to buy a new main battery just to see if it would help.

BTW, I could have a look at the unit if you want. I have taken apart a many E-125's to OC for other people, and sold the last units I had, only to revert back to the E-125. Or you can take the unit apart yourself, just to see if the ribbon cable is indeed connected.

Go to the link I posted, the white cable with the sky blue wrighting is what I am referring to as the ribbon cable. You can take apart your unit, and see if that cable is connected, Good Luck!

dear snowflake,
Yes I have tried the usb cable with no luck.. tried to charge for like 5 hours.. pulled the main battery and checked with my volt/ohm meter the voltage was like 2.34v .. seemed kinda low to me.. then I replaced back into the unit for like a minute.. then checked again with volt/ohm meter and the voltage was 0.1v!!?? so I am hoping that the battery is causing a dead short and will not allow the unit to power up.. hopefully.. I have also checked to see if my unit was OC and shows no indication.. was very careful with the white ribbon cable.. i have seem this type of connection before in other computer that i had repaired.. and it really seems ok.. as far as the new battery it is already on its way some time after the holiday.. if this don't work out for me maybe i can have you take a look at it for me maybe i'm missing something..Thanks

Hello To All:
I finally got my Casio E-125 to work!! The main battery must have been completely dead.. I had ordered a new main battery pack off of e-bay and it came the other day.. just plugged it in and bam.. I was up and running!!
Thanks to all!!
