Hello all,

Just found this great forum with many expert users. Guess you guys maybe able to give me some hints on my problem.

I am using the IPAQ 2210 with version 1.1 rom. After I installed Que software and connect the GPS 10 with the ipaq, the GPS 10 will disconnect in a few mins. It will show "searching for com 8" if i am inside Que. Most of the time, I had to exit the program, turn off bluetooth and turn on again to make it able to reconnect again. I had tried to reintall the software again but the same thing happens. Is there any options in the bluetooth manager i need to check/uncheck?

Thanks for reading.

Did you configure the connection between you GPS 10 and the iPaq as a paired device? That'll be one of the options in the Bluetooth configuration.

Yes, I did pair the GPS 10 and the Ipaq. The connection seems unstable. I did a hard reset on my 2210 last night and install just Que on the Ipaq. The pairing is good for a few mins and then the connection is lost. I have to turnoff the bluetooth and then on again to get back the GPS signal.

Does it seem like the GPS 10 is faulty?

Have you observed what happens to the blue light on the GPS 10? It flashes quickly when it's not connected and once every two seconds or so when a connection is established. Another thing is to leave the GPS Info screen visible on the iPaq and see if there is any fluctuation in the satellite acquisition message.

Have you tried pairing the GPS 10 to another iPaq? I guess we know many people who have these puppies so another Bluetooth test on a different PDA might point a finger at your device, or if it fails on another PDA, then possibly the GPS 10 is erratic.

What OS is this model running? Have you used Bluetooth with anything else on this iPaq? If this is an older pda, there may be issues with the bluetooth implementation. AD, ever hear about bluetooth connectivity problems on this model?

i am running windows ppc 2003 on the 2210. bluetooth is only used for the gps 10. base on these few days usage, i observed that if i don't use the route function (just use it to display my current location) the connection is able to stay longer. once i enter an address and the program starting to communicate with the gps 10, then the connection is lost.

btw, here is the error log file:

That sniffs of shagged memory! As you have a definite error in the application I'd refer that to Garmin for attention.

I second that referral. Send the file to Garmin with a complete description of the problem.

Have you tried updating the ROM? Go to HP.com and search on IPAQ 2210. The latest ROM fixes several problems including a lock-up problem with Blue Tooth. Good luck.
