Hi!

I tried posting this on another board but noone answered..hoping to hear from someone here...

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to have hotsync use an already established connection to perform a Hotsync? In other words..if I'm already connected via PPP or WIFI is there a way to have hotsync just use that connection?

Why do I want this? I have a WIFI card that I've sucessfully used to hit the Web and do wireless transfers but alas there is no "option" to select it form the Hotsync screen...I thought that if there was software out there that allowed you to sync via an existing connection it might solve my problem...

I've googled alot but can find no info about trying to do this with the Zire...

any ideas?

Mike,
There is a very long thread at http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27494&page=8&pp=15 that discusses wifi syncing and how to set it up. It's specific to the Clie but the general instructions will work on any Palm OS device.

Thanks Jim,

I did see that post the issue is I don't "see" WIFI as an option...only Infra-red and cable ...

That's why I thought if there was a way to just sync via an already established connection it might do the trick...

any thoughts?

Mike,
On a Palm, you have to create a new network connection and then set it up with the parameters outlined in that thread. You won't see the wifi or LAN option with a a Zire because the wifi isn't built-in the way it is on some Clie's.
