I'm looking for a map program for my PPC. Can anyone recommend a good one (for use in the UK)?

Mikey.

Well, if you are looking for something free....as in BEER. Try MS Pocket Streets. Its the viewer for the *.mps map files which can be found on-line and you can Purchase MS Autoroute (35$ US) and make your own maps.

Powerloc Destinator is a good GPS product if that is what you are looking for. There are maps for Europe as well as the US (check the edition you buy; if you purchase in Europe you would get those maps by default).

hello
I use tomtom citymaps
It works very good alone
I made a try with a Garmin etrex external GPS and everything went OK (you need a nul modem connection between the two cables) ) but since I installed tomtom GPS my Ipaq give me advertisings like "impossible de charger tomtom GPS"
I made perhaps a mistake during the installation but every time I put my Ipaq on ,the same message comes on !
Even now, afther removing the tomtom GPS program, this message appears when I start.

epicuro, how did you get a Garmin GPS working with the Pocket PC? What kind of cables did you need?

I know that Garmin sells a serial cable for their GPS units, but how did you get this to interface with the PDA?

hello
I use the serial cable I received with my Garmin Etrex Vista and a new cable for the Ipaq (the same you are using to connect at the PC but without the holder:"an universal autosync cable -cost 38 euros)
between the cables you have to buy a connector called null-modem.I found the explanation on the following adress but I am not electrician and so did not open the cables! a null-modem is enough
