Won't HotSync in OS X with USB Serial Adapter
I'm trying to setup a friend's Palm V on a Mac G4 with OS X.2 (Jaguar). Palm didn't have any of their own PalmConnect USB adapters for the serial cradle, and they said that I could use pretty much any USB to Serial Adapter.

So it's all hooked up, the cradle is getting power and all, but the HotSyncing will not work. When I press "HotSync" on the PDA itself it waits awhile and then says "Unable to connect with desktop"

Using Palm's latest Palm Desktop 4.0 software downloaded just yesterday from their site.

Any thoughts? I'll need to set up probably another couple of these in our office.

NO personal experience on this but it is a well known problem with no solid solutions that seem to work for everyone. I am posting links to two threads you should read them both. Check out the method developed by "smartin807" in the first thread it is just off the wall enough to be possible.
