Well - I'vre now got an Orinocco Lucent Tech Silver Wifi PCMCIA card but still struggling to get anything to work.
I have posted this on the Wireless thread but if any of you guys could help I would be most grateful.

" went to the link above but the new version of the Netbook OS appears to be Windows CE.
There are a couple of websites which are offering a free download of OS's for the Netbook but I'm not sure how you get them on to the machine. I purchased this psion 2nd hand and have not got a "bootable" flash card - just a CD. I tried a hard reset and then tried to download the OS but the PC doesn't recognise that the psion is connected (or maybe it's the psion!).
The message just say's "Load bootable CF - or the CD rom".
The psion is working fine but I really wanted to be able to get on the net and use Email from my wireless home network.
I have purchased an Orinocco Silver PCMCIA card with the Lucent Chipset (which I had hoped would work) but the psion is not recognising it.
As I have said - there is no ethernet setting in the Control Panel - just internet setting.
Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about?
Please help!"

Many thanks.......

When you hard reset your netBook, you remove the operating system and as such need to install it again. To get the latest operating system, download it from the following link:

http://www.psionteklogix.com/teknet/pdk/netbook-pdk/downloads.htm

The readme.txt will tell you how to install the operating system. Just for your information a bootable CF card is just a normal CF card with the OS.img file loaded on the root directory. On start up the netBook will find this file and install the OS. Once this is done, you will not neet the OS.img file again until the next hard reset (all batteries removed). If you keep you batteries charged then the OS will always be there.

You may need to register on their website to get access to this file, but this is free and can be done at the following:

http://www.psionteklogix.com/ptxCMS/Core.aspx?s=com&p=TeknetforCustomers

See how you get on with this and we can help you out with any other queries you have.

This also includes help on wi-fi/wired ethernet connection.

Well - how cool is this?

I'm laying in bed - replying to this thread from my Netbook - remotely - via an Orinoco wireless PCMCIA card!

Thank you very much for all your help in getting this set up.

I really appreciate your patience.

Many thanks.
