SD problems

i tried to delete several items off of my SD card. when the card is in the reader/writer (built in to my PC), i can delete/add what i want. when the card is removed and placed into my Axim, however, the deleted items are still shown some of them i delete successfully, but others will first give me a warning that the file is a "system" file and deleting it could cause problems (these are just MP3's on the SD card), then when i go ahead and just tap "ok" to delete, i get a pop up saying it can't be deleted. this card can then be taken out and placed directly into my PC and the deleted items will not be listed.

i don't know what folks mean by "formatting a card", this one has never been "formatted" as far as i know.

You can't delete them because the files are being used by program on the axim. My guess is you still have media player open while you tried to deleted the files. Click Start - Settings - System tab - Memory - Running Programs tab and stop running application that may uses the files. There are many 3rd party task managers that provide easy program closing function. Soft reset the axim before deleting the files will work as well.

i'm still having a little trouble. one of the files i saved to my SD card is a theme. i deleted it on the PC, but when i tried on the device it said that it was still in use. i had already selected a different theme, so i tap - start, settings, today - and find the file is not even listed on saved themes? where would it still be in use?

My guess is that it's still in the memory on the pda, so make sure you don't select that deleted theme and soft reset the unit, thing should be back to normal.
