Found this on scigeosatnav today.
Track log to web: http://www.magnalox.net/
Click on the Loxtrax link to come to the PPC application which allows playing a tracklog rather than just viewing it. Supports VGA, landscape and portrait, supports moving background maps in png, jpg, gif etc.
There is an interesting application by which you can see where you'll end up in a certain amount of time on e.g. a boat.
It's quite sophisticated, takes some time to digest the details of what it can do.
And it's free
Edit: With Magnalox Mobile you can access logs on the web and download them into your PPC. Then in Loxttrax, one feature which is interesting is LOI "line of interest", giving you the outer limits along a track where you should be. Very useful when boating in difficult waters. The LOI can be shown on top of a map or chart.
PLus: The author mentions (in an answer to my questions on the Loox 720 on usenet maus.technik.de)
that Loxtrax includes the option to let the GPS reestablish a broken BT connedction without user interaction. This allows the BT GPS to be on while the GPS is switched off.
HE uses a Royaltek RBT-3000 which is a BT GPS with a built in data logger. Thus, the track can be logged in the GPS and you just turn on the PDA when you feel like it.
But it can't be used with Mapsource because of the ESN restriction....
