Im bought this PDA, and am waiting for it to arrive..

It's going to be the first wifi device ive ever owned, and am not quite clear how it works. I have an 802.11b wireless router, so does that mean that when I turn on the PDA near it, and open Internet Explorer, it will just automaticaly pick up the signal and I will be able to surf the web?? And same with hotspots... Like, if im at starbucks or something, and turn on yhe pda and open IE, will it just sence the wifi automaticaly and im good to go??
