help!! problem with cradle

my m515 keeps getting a "fatal error" on its screen when i remove my handheld from its cradle, or when i put i on its cradle.
i reset the handheld and the error occurs again and again and again.
i have had no previous problems with my handheld for the 2 months that i've had it. please help, getting a bit desperate.

hard reset your handheld and test it out before hotsyncing. if it works, then it's probably due to something on your handheld.

i did all that but i have had no success. i guess that i must send it back.:(

When you do the "Hard Reset" does your Palm offer to delete all data? And do you say yes (scroll up)?
If this is not what is happening you are not doing a hard rest. If you have been doing the hard reset correctly and the problem persists then you should check for a bent connector on the Universal connector and if that is all clear, return the unit for replacement.

JUST IN CASE: The hard reset is as follows: Hold down the Power "On" button. At the same time gently push the reset pin (or paper clip) in the reset hole on the back of your Palm. Remove the reset pin but continue to hold down the Power Button for 10 to 15 seconds or until you see the Palm Logo. Let the power button go. You should see a screen offering to remove all of your data if you push the Scroll Up button. Say Yes by pushing the top center scroll button and you have done the Hard Reset.
