So far I have used the Q only for vehicle travel. Was looking at tracks on it and note it is full but there are no saved tracks.

Wondering how would you see them? Considering I am not using them anyway should it be deleted every so often?

There is no need to delete. The recording will rollover, if that is how it is set in the map preference.

If you want to save all, or part of, the current track log, you have to tap Save to make such a manouvre manually. You can then specify if you want to save all of the track, or set the beginning and end of the saved track.
You can save up to 32 tracks. Saved tracks are reduced, if necessary, to comprise no more than 500 track points.

Thanks for the response. Can I actually see these tracks and if so how? If a track has to be saved to view it again where and how do you view it?

Save the current track, as a test. After that, I think your questions will answer themselves, if you experiment a little.

You are right. I downloaded the Que manual and tried saving the track and then viewed it. Still not quite sure how to get a saved track in mapsource however.

Although I didn't hotsync with the saved track.

After you hotsync, the saved track should show up at "C:\Program Files\Palm\<userID>\Tracks\Tracks.mps".

Just double click the file and it would load in MapSource. Switch to Tracks tab, where you would see the tracks transferred from iQue. Highlight a track, right click it, and select "Show Selected Track on Map" and bingo, you have the track displayed on the map.

This is provided you have installed the optional Track Conduit, which you can download from the software update page for the iQue 3600, at Garmin's web site.

There's an easier way to open the track, though. Start Mapsource, click on the icon which represents "Receive from device". Select your iQue hotsync ID and click on Receive. Since Mapsource knows very well where these tracks are saved on your PC, you don't have to locate the file manually this way.

Thanks to you both. I don't have the conduit installed but if I understand Anders I don't need that?

I had already tried the find device option from mapsource and it did not list my ID.

Yes, you do need the Track conduit. Not to save the track in the iQue, but to be able to get them over to the PC. If you don't get them in there, you can't open them in Mapsource either, of course.
