I'm a code as you go type of programmer, with very little patience to read or study beforehand.
Can you recommend any good guides/tutorials to quickly going on .Net CF (and OpenNetCF) development? I'm also willing to get a book if there is a really good one.

Joseph, there are lots of good books out there. The one I cut my teeth on is Mastering C# which is about the best I've seen. It's a thick tome but noone wants to buy a slim book for $30 when you can get a fat book for $30. Being a fat book the chapters are though, well organised and the author's don't spend too much time on endless dribble just to fill the pages. You'll have no problem adjusting though.
C# is no issue to learn but the frameworks contain about 6000+ classes so most of your time will be in there. The MSDN help is very thorough but it's overly complicated and not easy to navigate. I'll post the ISBN number when I get to work.

Since I don't have any books on the subject, I found this online C# tutorial (http://www.softsteel.co.uk/tutorials/cSharp/cIndex.html) seems to be reasonable.
