I have an iPaq Pocket PC and am finding that through time my iPaq's internal memory continues to fill up until there is no more available. I have to perform a hard reset and then my free memory is available again. I tried going in to file manager to check the temp folder to see if that was filling up for some reason, and it's not that. I can't seem to figure out what the memory is being sucked from.

I have suspicion that it may be associated with AvantGo, but I only have a few channels selected for synchronization which is nowhere near the original 21 MB I have free on a fresh hard reset.

I am not syncing eMail at all, so it couldn't be eMail messages and/or attachments to eMail messages filling it up.

I have heard others have experienced this problem with other Pocket PC devices, so I don't think it's specific to the iPaq itself.

Any information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Becker

I have heard of some of the e-books for the MSReader eating up memory.

Strangely enough, I don't have to do anything and it eventually fills up through time even when it is not connected to the cradle. If I just let it set for a few days, the free available internal memory eventually gets full to where I can't do a thing with it. It almost seems as if it would be a virus of some sort, though I doubt it.

I have disabled Avant-go and will see if that removes the problem or not.

Thanks for the reply.

Have you installed any programs or utilities that run in the back ground and keep track of something (e.g. a memory manager or resouce meter)?

Well, Actually... Yes... I guess I noticed the problem to start around the same time I installed a few new utilities. I uninstalled all of them but one which I can't seem to get rid of, because it's in use. It's called, "PHM Today Meters". I should probably go back to the site I downloaded it from to see what the specific instructions are for uninstalling the utility.

I'll see what I can find and will get back with you...

Since I disabled Avantgo, I notice that the problem still exists.
