Trying to reinstall my BB on a new system. Using the redirect method.
During a botched attempt with the Go.Web software, my BB now displays the "Device Error 12" RESET, message. I attempt to reset and the same message pops up. Tried the hard reset and the same thing.
Now my machine cannot detect the BB as I cannot get the error to go away.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Device error 12 occurs when incompatible data stores are installed on the current OS.
Fortunately the fix should be easy. Just cradle your BlackBerry (it will NOT detect) and open application loader. Now just run through the application loader process (but uncheck the GoWeb software), and be sure to select the options to erase existing application and data. If you do not see these options and get to the final screen with a "finish" button, just select the advanced button and these options will be listed in the new windows that appear.

Ok. Tried it, but when I attempt to open the Application Loader, I get a message.
Serial port is not configured properly.
The original O/S that this software was running on, was wiped out. I had to reinstall it and reload the BB software.
I still get the Device Error 12 and cannot remove it from the unit. Thanks.

Great, that makes things all the more difficult... this port problem is caused by some conflicting software/hardware, but the problem is trying to locate it... I suggest looking in the corner of your windows next to the clock and closing any icons that are not absolutely neccessary to the functioning of windows and trying again. If that doesn't work, try renaming the com port in your device manager to a different port number, say 7, then rebooting the machine and trying app loader again. Failing this, if you have an IT department tell them you have a com port conflict and ask them to resolve it. This is a Windows error, not a BlackBerry one. Do you know of any software/hardware changes that have occured since the last time your device would detect?
