I've decided that the case I really want for my TT is the Palm Hard Case (http://store.palm.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1195298&cp=1170719.1157586), but unfortunately it isn't easily available yet. I could order one, but I've decided to gamble on waiting 'til it appears in a local store. I bought my TT at a local Staples the day it came out, and they now have a little space marked for the TT Hard Case when they finally get some. So I wait....
Perhaps someone can post here if they actually see a Palm Hard Case for sale at their local store, or post a review if they actually physically get one they can describe.
While I'm waiting, I bought the Palm Slim Leather Case (http://store.palm.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1195296&cp=1170719..1157586). I bought mine at a PDA store in Paris (they actually have PDA stores!), but it's also available at Staples (here in the USA) right now. It's way better than having to continue using the clear plastic cover that came with the TT. But I still don't feel that it protects the TT as much as I'd like; the power button and the "universal" connector are both exposed. But it is easy to use, and has a space to hold credit cards or business cards, plus two slots designed to hold SD/MMC cards. Reasonable. Though I wouldn't really call it "slim"; with the TT and no cards of any type in it, it measures ~1" thick in most areas -- and ~1.25" thick at the leather loop (in the "tongue and loop closure"). The TT is held into the case the same way the clear case snaps onto the TT -- using a plastic piece that grabs into the little slits on the side of the TT. I appreciate that no velcro was required to attach it. And the TT slides open fine while using the case, unlike most other PDA cases which are impractical for the TT. Overall, a pretty good case, and one that may satisfy many people who will put it only in a relatively safe pocket or briefcase.
