I have been trying to download opera to my Psion 7 but with no success. I have an old '3lib' disc - 1998! - with opera on it. When I used this disc - a long time ago - I installed opera to the Psion via my PC
So.... rthis is a kind of dlouble question. Should I first of all download rthe latest version of opera to my current laptop -and then onwards to the Psion 7?
Or should I continue trying to download it direct to the Psion from the web?
I've not really used the web via my pson 7 before - it is soo slow.... but (as mentkioned in other messages to this forum) I am about to travel to OZ, and want to use the Psion 7 for Web and emailing while I'm there.

I've not really used the web via my pson 7 before - it is soo slow.... Web is slow because the Psion takes a long time to render the pages. If you use the same speed modem with your laptop and S7, downloading a file shouldn't be significantly slower with the Psion and at least you already have it ready to install (unless it needs unzipping first!).

As I said in a previous post, I would definitely recommend you download the latest version of Opera for Symbian - I wouldn't use the one on your 1998 disk!
http://www.opera.com/download/index.dml?platform=symbian&session=
Remember this will have to be registered if you wish to use it beyond the 30 day trial, although it does only count up on the days that you actually use it, so if you only access it, say, every other day, then you effectively get 60 days, for example. Plenty of time to decide if you feel it worth the investment - it certainly was for me.
Personally, I would download it to PC (or laptop) and then install from the .SIS file to the S7, then you know you have the download stored should you need it again. Since you are going to be away from home for some time, I would further recommend that you take a spare CF disk containing all your important .SIS files just in case you need to reinstall whilst away. I always do that, though I have to say, I never had to use it! Remember that the default setting for .SIS files on the Psion is for them to auto-delete once the installation has been completed - you can change the default if you wish, or else just make a copy of the .SIS file before installing.
Hope that helps
