palm iiic networking

I have a palm iiic that I am trying to network with a LAN internet connection.
I have a cable modem at home that I can not get the Palm to link up through and gain internet access. In addition, I can not get the Palm to link up to the internet through my T1 connection at work.

I'm not sure what has to happen with the networking, but I do have the main computer's IP address added in to the Palm.

Is there some sort of 3rd party software I need to make it all work?

Any help/directions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I just bought a modem for my palm 3c too. I have been trying to connect with my cable modem as well. The big problem is that cable obviously does not use a phone line. Anyways, I talked to a guy from my cable internet provider and he said that you just have to set up your computer for dial up networking. The guy did not really know all that much about palm pilots but he said that if your computer was hooked up to the cable internet and you also had a phone line attached to your computer ten the palm modem would apparently dial into your home phone number and make a connection using it that way. I think it would work for me if I could get Windows ME to acknowledge that I have a phone modem... It's worth a shot.
