All of the sudden, when the Hot Synch attemps to synch my mail application with my WinNT desktop Lotus Notes R5.0.5, I get a pop-up message the says "the requested database cannot be accessed. Another application may be open or running." I've closed all the programs on both the desktop and pda. Also, I've tinkered with the options and the settings but to no avail. I checked with the help features and the closest thing that it covered was "the requested database is unavailable......" Not exactly what I'm dealing with. I would go the website and eventually will. But, the problem is that I'm using an enterprise verison and I'm unable to supply the registration (?) code. Any ideas?

First let me say how much I hate Lotus Notes but am forced to use it at work.
Now let me try to help:
Did you change your Notes Mail password recently? If so, Intellisync has the location of your notes.ini file and your password stored in the conduit options. You might want to try to change your password there as well. In Notes Mail, under the User ID setting there's also a checkbox to ignore password prompts from third party apps. You may want to try to enable that checkbox.
If the above fails, you may want to try (or have your lan admin try) a reinstallation of Intellisync.
Personally for me, none of the above worked to resolve my mail syncronization problems when it stopped syncing one day. For me the solution was documents to go premium, which includes Dataviz mail. Now my mail from Notes syncs and includes attachments.
Hope this helps and good luck!

FYI, I upgraded to Doc To Go Premium and it still doesn't work. It gets the synch and passes over it. In the log I get the following message: - DataViz Mail
- Lotus Notes Mail database not found. Tried CN=LN610108/O=Deluxe Corporation!!mail\dhinze.nsf, mail\dhinze.nsf, dhinze.nsf.
-- DataViz Mail
- Failed while trying to Logon to the Desktop Mail System. Please check your DataViz Mail settings. Launch Mail Setup through the Windows Start menu on your desktop. Select Programs, Palm Desktop program group, and choose the Mail Setup icon.
DataViz Mail synchronization failed
I have Dataviz looking into the probelm. I spent an hour on the phone with them. They have their engineers looking into it now. But, I was wondering if you had the same problem or might know the solution to this one?

I'm sorry to hear that didn't work for you. I haven't run into the error message you quoted but let me ask you this. Has your notes mail administrator been making any changes that you're aware of? For example, in my company they used to have our mail files (.nsf files) stored on a private network folder (H drive) and then subsequently moved them via a batch file to our local C drives. I'm wondering if something like that may have happened to you and the confuration of Intellisync / Dataviz is still looking at an older location.
The only other thing I can suggest, is that you uninstall, docs to go, uninstall intelliysnc and then uninstall Palm Desktop and perform a fresh reinstall of them all in the order of Palm Desktop followed by Intellisync followed lastly by Docs to Go. Reinstalling may prompt the software to find the correct location of your active database. I know this will take sometime and it may not solve the problem but often times problems like this are only corrected by trial and error. I'm sure having your mail on your Palm is an important feature for you (it is for me) and to get it back you may have to go to some extraordinary lengths. I would probably give Dataviz a couple days to respond to you and if they can't help I would try the uninstall/reinstall idea unless anyone else has a different suggestion.
Good Luck and please keep us posted on how you make out.

A similar problem happened to me. Intellisync said it was a corruption with my Lotus Notes database (even though I could read the mail and calendar fine through Lotus Notes). I got my Notes Administrator to create a new replica of my Notes mailbox and replace my original Mail database with the replica. The first sync was very slow, but it worked finer afer that. By creating the replica, we fixed the corruption issue. Please call Intellisync for more detailed instructions. There was an extra step in here that I am sure I am forgeting.
Here is the response I got from Pumatech:
This error implies corruption of the Notes database. To test this please create a test Database and Location document. Configure Intellisync and sync. If this is successful you will need to run some type of Database Maintenance on your Notes Databaes. We've provided two url's which explain how to create a Database and Location document. If you need assistance with any of this please seek your Notes Admin.
