[Toshiba E755; PPC 2003; ActiveSync 3.8]
The power-on password utility has disappeard from my PDA. I tried a hard reset which brought back the icon in the system menu, but when I then restored from backup, it disappeard again and so if I lose my PDA it is unprotected.
I downloaded a 3rd party password program (Touch Password) but it will not install. No error message, it just doesn't install.
The only program I've added to the Flash Rom is Tweaks2k2.net which I use to direct mail attachments onto the storage card. Programs on the storage card are: Winmobile Lens, Belkin G700 Keyboard, KSE Truefax and FolderLock, but the password was working with all of those installed until recently. I know I can use the encryption in Folderlock to protect data but I still want the device password to work.
Any ideas if this is a virus, a program conflict, or just a corrupted OS file? Is it possible to reinstall or repair Winmobile PPC 2003? Thanks for any suggestions.
