Is there any hope (power question) ?

I am trying to resurrect an m100 that has been sitting dormant about 2 years. It had no data that needed to be preserved but the batteries were left in it and when I went to put in new batteries, I saw that one had "leaked". I cleaned out the mess and put in fresh batteries but to no avail. Does sitting in the cradle do anything for the power on the m100 or is it just for sync-ing? I did also try a hard reset but it wouldn't turn on.

Is it hopeless? Anything to try?

The cradle is just for syncing. Make sure the battery contacts are clean--down to bare metal with no gunk or crust where the contacts touch the batteries. If it still won't work, some of the crud probably got inside and either shorted or corroded something.
