My boss has a "crackberry," and with it he is able to access his office email. But he cannot open attachments with the Blackberry (although I understand Blackberry offers an Attachment Service for a fee).

He wants to know if he has a notebook computer in his car, which he is in a lot, is there a way to receive the Blackberry signals that go to his Blackberry on his notebook computer, too, with an 802.11b PC card or someother WiFi card?

Thanks.

Dejola -

Why doesn't your boss use itrezzoAgent? It's available for free here for download:

http://www.rimroad.com/software/rim1/itrezzoAgent-Applet-2001-9-5-rim-rim1.html

and than you can convert 60 file attachments. :)

Thanks for the lead about Intrezza. I'll look into it. But he still wants the info about the Blackberry and the notebook computer.
He's ordered one of those new Toshiba Portege 3500 combination notebook & tablet PC.

Thanks again for Intrezza.

If you go to BlackBerry.com the homepage has a link to the new attachment viewing software available free for download straight from BlackBerry. You need 3.5 BES to run it.

Again, thanks for the info about the attachment viewing software.
But I am still interested in finding out if I can get Blackberry data, including my office emails ON MY NOTEBOOK COMPUTER with a wireless PC Card.

Thanks again.

BlackBerry is totally different than a notebook, and there is no method of getting your "blackberry data" over to a laptop. All the BlackBerry can do is get messages and know how to access files. For example, if you have an attachment, you can use the BB to forward the whole email (including attachment), or you can use the new BES version 3.5 to view the attachment on your BlackBerry.

If your boss wants to get his emails on his LAPTOP then he will need to do this independently of BlackBerry. The best option for this right now is to use a wireless modem.

VERIZON - sells the Sierra Wireless Aircard 555. I've used the card and it's pretty good and fast.

T-Mobile - sells the Sierra Wireless Aircard 750, also very good and quite fast, although I think the Verizon network is faster.

Sprint - also sells Sierra Aircard 555

These cards will let you use a laptop to get email (or surf the net) while travelling. Make sure you look into airtime costs first.
