Hi,

I bought a second hand iPaq 3660 and i can't find the Windows Media Player. How do i get it?

I looked at Microsoft but I can't get any of their version installed on the iPaq (wrong version...).

I tought it should have been present in ROM, but even with the latest ROM update (2.20) and EEU (3.0), no Media Player.

Please help...
Philippe

Solved: i had to install "manually" the right .CAB file located in wmnall.exe (Windows Media Player 7.1 for Pocket PC).

I know I had the to-do the same thing, the only bad part about is that it only installs it to the RAM and takes up pressouse space. I installed the update to my CF Card and then coppied the files I new and could fin in the Windows folder to that folder (i.e. the pic files for the buttons and skins).

Did you get it run ?
I did the same and I can start Media Player 7.0/7.1 but it doesn't play any MP3 file. If I select one, just nothing happens.
I'm using a German Pocket PCD 2002 vrtsion.
What can I do ?

Thanks for helping

You download the Media player update from the microsoft web site. Then uncompress the file that you download. Next copy the ARM .CAB file to the iPAQ and from file manager on the iPAQ double tap the cab file and watch it run. It should start working then.

Filvert,

Is the wmnall.exe located in the Windows Folder. I have 3630, and also want to run Windows Media Player, however I could not find it. I also posses the latest ROM update (2.20) and EEU (3.0), no Media Player. Please advise.

That`s exactly what I did. The Player installs and runs but if I want to play an MP3 just nothing happens. The other thing is that if I want to use a playlist, I can add songs but again not play any. It`s an iPAQ 3660.

Any ideas what the problem could be ?

Kind regards

Steffen

Ott09, the wmnall.exe is the .exe file you get on your desktop PC. You have to uncompress it on your desktop PC and look for the file wolf.ARM.CAB. The file wolf.ARM.CAB has to be copied on your handheld device. You then have to open that CAB file on your handheld device to have Windows Media Player installed. The Windows Media Player should then appear in the "Start" menu of your handheld.

Hope it helps... :)
